CV News

For 65 years and counting, Chariton Valley has been committed to the communities we serve by not only offering the best products and services but by our involvement. As community members, we make it a priority to participate in civic organizations and charitable events. We also donate time and resources to community betterment initiatives, supply scholarships to deserving area students and sponsor and participate in community activities.

We believe if each of us contribute a little, it adds up to a lot. It is this belief that continues to propel us forward in our efforts to enrich the lives of those around us and make our communities better places to live and work.

For example, through our Co-ops In Action program, employees of Chariton Valley and Macon Electric Cooperative labor together to accomplish various work projects. As a group, volunteers have built the Callao ballfield backstop, painted the front of the La Plata Library, made improvements to the city hall and streetlamps in Ethel, updated windows at the Share and Care building in Wien, added planters to downtown Macon and more!

Annually, we partake in numerous community activities, such as the Macon Fork and Cork, Salisbury Steak Festival, Marceline Toonfest and many parades. In addition, we are proud of the sponsorships we provide. Some of our upcoming sponsorships include the Brunswick Fireworks Show, the entertainment at the Marceline Wine and Stroll and an all-expenses paid Washington D.C. trip for two area students to name just a few.

This year, we will give back through volunteer hours at the Macon Food Pantry and, once again, assemble a team for the Relay For Life of Macon County. Lastly, we are proud of the many Chariton Valley employees that serve on multiple boards or committees throughout our service area for the active role they play in shaping our local communities.

We could go on and on, but we won’t. We just want you to know your friends at Chariton Valley care about the communities we serve. The list above barely scratches the surface of our philanthropic efforts, neighborly support, caring attitude and community participation. And we will continue our commitment to public service for many years to come.
