The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced a nationwide test of Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) and the Emergency Alert System (EAS) scheduled for Wednesday, August 11, 2021. The test will originate at 1:20 pm Central Time. This test is similar in nature to the TV and radio tests that are held periodically to warn of an emergency situation. “THIS IS A TEST of the National Emergency Alert System. No action is required.
