What is Lifeline and can I get it thru Chariton Valley?
Lifeline assistance provides discounted monthly basic service. Lifeline is available on one voice or broadband service per household. This program is available to Chariton Valley Telephone Corp. (CVTC) and Chariton Valley Communications Corp. (CVCC), from herein referred to as Chariton Valley.
You may also complete a paper application and submit to Chariton Valley.
Who is eligible for Lifeline assistance?
You are eligible if you participate in any of the following programs:
• MO Healthnet (Medicaid)
• Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
• Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
• Federal Public Housing Assistance
• 135% of Federal Poverty Level
• Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit Program
The program is administered in a partnership arrangement between the Federal Communications Commission and the PSC. The program is funded by the federal universal service fund and the Missouri universal service fund. This program provides a discount of up to $24.00.

If you don’t qualify for Lifeline, wireline voice only customers may be eligible for a $24.00 monthly benefit under the Disabled Program:
• Veteran Administration Disability Benefits Program
• State Blind Pension
• State Aid to Blind Persons
• State Supplemental Disability Assistance Payment

Support Division Federal
• Federal Social Security Disability Benefits
For customers in Atlanta, Bevier, Bosworth, Bucklin, Bynumville, Callao, Clifton Hill, DeWitt, Ethel, Excello, Forest Green, Hale, Huntsville, Jacksonville, New Boston, New Cambria, Prairie Hill, Salisbury. Funding is solely provided by the Missouri USF and is limited to landline phone service by a participating company. Participation is limited to one discount per household and may not be combined with the Lifeline program.
