And don’t mistake wireless internet service for Wi-Fi. They are commonly confused, and the names are frequently and incorrectly interchanged. What is Fiber-Optic Internet?
Fiber-optic internet, also known as fiber, uses cable containing extremely thin, hair-width, glass-like strings of fiber material. Fiber converts an electrical signal’s internet data into light and then transports that light at extremely fast speeds into your home or business, making it much faster than coax or wireless internet technologies.
