Students must be nominated by their school.

Being involved with the schools in our area is important to us!  We’re dedicated to strengthening communities, building lasting relationships and helping promising students pursue their dreams.  That is why Chariton Valley is again offering an all-expenses paid trip to Washington DC for a high school junior from our area this summer, May 31-June 4.  That’s four-days to experience our nation’s capital this summer along with 100 other juniors from across this great nation. Chariton Valley sponsors this trip in conjunction with the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS).

How it works:

  1. You nominate a student.  Complete the Recommendation Form enclosed.
  2. The student completes the Student Profile Form enclosed.
  3. Then a committee of Chariton Valley’s Board of Directors interviews the finalists and selects the winner.

Student requirements:

  1. Student must be a junior and under 18 years of age at the time of the Youth Tour.
  2. Student’s parents/guardians must have service with Chariton Valley.
  3. Student must be in the top 25% of their class. (some exceptions apply)
  4. Students whose parents are employed by Chariton Valley or serve on the Board of Directors for Chariton Valley are not eligible for this opportunity.

The interview will take place during the school day on Wednesday, February 15th at Chariton Valley Headquarters – 1213 E Briggs Drive in Macon.  You will be notified of the interview time.

Send the completed Recommendation and Student Profile Forms along with a current picture of the student and a copy of the student’s transcript to:
