Funding That Supports Important Projects In Our Community
As part of our ongoing commitment to rural communities across our service area, we have partnered with FRS to offer aid to communities we serve through its annual Community Grant Program. These grants are designed to provide support to a variety of local efforts to build and sustain a high quality of life in rural America.
The FRS Community Grant Program is offered annually through NTCA members, like us, to support local efforts to build and sustain a high quality of life in rural America.

FRS will not fund grants to the following:
- Individuals
- Scholarship programs
- International organizations
- Lobbying and political activities
- Ticketed events
- Security cameras
- For-Profit Businesses
- Digital signage
- Endowments or capital campaigns
- Event sponsorships
- Community food programs
- Loan programs
- Religious-based activities
- Employee or contractor salaries
Applications for 2026 grants
will be open on June 12.
Applications for these grants are accepted each spring, ranging from $250 to $5,000. The grants awarded each November support a variety of projects concentrated in four major categories.

Complete the Community Grant Application Guide and send the information along with supporting documents to Donna Bell by August 27, 2026. As your NTCA member partner, Chariton Valley will submit the application on your behalf. This is a highly competitive grant. Be as thorough as possible in describing your project and how it will help your community.
