Community Human Trafficking Awareness Training took place June 1.

MACON, MO — June 3, 2026 — Community members, law enforcement and frontline professionals came together at the Macon Expo Center on June 1 and 2 for two impactful Human Trafficking Awareness Training events aimed at strengthening awareness, improving identification and enhancing response efforts across northeast Missouri.
On June 1, the Community Human Trafficking Awareness Training welcomed residents from across the region to learn how to recognize warning signs, understand vulnerabilities and grooming tactics, and take meaningful steps to protect their families and neighbors. The session emphasized that trafficking can occur in any community and highlighted the critical role individuals play in prevention and reporting.
On June 2, a full-day Law Enforcement and Professional Training provided hands-on, skills-based instruction for law enforcement officers and professionals, including first responders, healthcare providers, educators, and victim advocates. Participants gained practical tools to identify trafficking victims, collect evidence, conduct interviews, and build stronger cases against traffickers—equipping them to respond effectively when it matters most.
Both sessions were led by national expert Dan Nash, retired Missouri State Trooper and founder of the Human Trafficking Training Center, whose real-world experience and practical instruction provided invaluable insight to attendees.
