New DNS Servers
Chariton Valley has new DNS servers and the older servers should no longer be used!
DNS servers are like the phonebooks of the internet. You have to configure DNS servers in your computer for your computer to be able to surf the web or get email. Now that our DNS servers are changing, you will need to change the settings in your computer in order to be able to continue to user the internet.
Need help? We have instructions for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.
Please note that not all users will have to make this change...
- DSL users will need to make this change. This is because the DNS settings are hard coded in your computer.
- Airspan, 56K Dialup, and FTTH users will probably not need to make this change. This is because we use a system that attempts to provide your computer with the correct settings, though it is possible for you to configure your computer to ignore this information.
