Long Distance Definitions

LATA: ...stands for Local Access and Transport Area. Missouri is divided into 4 LATA's. The LATA we are in is composed of 660/816/913 area codes.

Inter: ...means between. An interLATA call is a long distance call to a point between the LATAs (a call from the 660/816/913 area codes to anywhere outside the 660/816/913 area).

Intra: ...means within. An intraLATA call is long distance call to a point within the LATA (within the 660/816/913 area codes).
