Yes, you can afford telephone service...

Yes, you can afford telephone service and your local telephone company can show you how. Federal Law and state lawmakers believe that every person in America should have access to quality, affordable telecommunications service. In fact, they’ve created a system to do just that.

These plans are Lifeline Assistance and Link Up Missouri and are available to those participating in one of the following programs:
• Medicaid
• Food Stamps
• Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
• Federal Public Housing Assistance or Section 8
• Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
• Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
• National School ‘Free Lunch’ Program

This “universal service” support includes:
• Lifeline assistance which provides discounts for basic monthly service.
• Lifeline is available on one telephone service per household, wireline or wireless.
• Link Up Missouri which reduces the cost of initiating new service.
• Toll limitation service that allows you to control your long-distance charges.
